We supply to a wide range of industries from automotive (BMW, Honda, Toyota, and Land Rover) to offshore oil and gas (BP, Total, Shell, Statoil, Maersk and Talisman). Our focus is at the high end of the market where our 36-year history and reputation for quality and reliability has established us as the market leader. Typical project values range from £50,000 up to £5 million.

Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Manager

This permanent position is Worcester based (with UK travel and some overseas travel) and with the benefits of pension scheme, life assurance and income protection scheme. Salary is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.


As QHSE Manager reporting directly to the Managing Director you will work closely with internal Calder teams and external suppliers to ensure compliance with ISO standards, and customer conformity requirements, and you will manage the company’s environmental compliance and H&S systems. Calder is currently certified to ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015 and OHSAS18001:2007 (Transition toISO45001 in 2019)

In your quality role you will manage and be given the opportunity to promote improvements and implement standards and compliance initiatives to ensure Calder products meet the demanding requirements of industry and off-shore deployment.

In your H&S role you will manage safe systems of work and ensure compliance with relevant legislation in and an engineering mainland and off-shore environment.

In your environmental role you will ensure company systems are compatible with environmental standards and legislation, including conformity to Group policies and practices, including Corporate Social Responsibility and Governance.

This is a “hands on” role and to be successful you will need to be a fully qualified quality and / or HSE professional preferably with an engineering background. You will be used to dealing with suppliers and maintaining a demanding regime of accuracy and excellence. You will be methodical, precise and be able to maintain accurate record systems and report accordingly. Calder is also JQA Achilles and FPAL verified, which falls under the responsibility of QHSE, and therefore familiarity with the verification requirements would be an advantage.

Stores Person

Permanent position with benefits of pension scheme, life assurance and income protection scheme.

Established in 1981, our experience in building robust pump packages for the toughest onshore and offshore process and waterjet pumping applications is significant.

Stores Person - The Job

As Stores Person you will primarily be responsible for managing all stock movements and follow through with any discrepancies that arise. Also ensuring supplied parts are checked, receipted and stored in accordance with company standards policies and procedures. You will need to keep accurate records for all inwards and outwards inventory movements and participate in annual stocktake including counting, Monthly PPI and stock adjustments.

You will also dispatch all outward goods in suitable packaging, using approved freight providers.

To be considered for this position you will need an engineering background and be familiar with stock control procedures. The stores system is IT based s o you will need to be conversant with MS Windows and MS Office. If you are familiar with Pegasus Operations Crystal Reporting that would be an advantage.

The Stores Person requires a forklift truck license for stock movement.

In all cases starting salary will be dependant on your experience which must be supported by recognised academic qualifications.

Employees are expected to reside within a reasonable commuting distance from the Company's HQ in Worcester.

Project Engineer

The Job
Your task will be to ensure timely, safe and cost effective design and implementation of projects. This will include client & supplier liaison, resource planning & SDRL Management.  You will support the Engineering Project Manager and / or the Engineering Director with project planning, system design, testing & the associated documentation.

You should also be able to demonstrate draughting experience and competence using 3D CAD (Solid Edge or Solid Works).

You will need a Mechanical Engineering background allied with project management skills and experience of working on manufacturing projects which incorporate heavy equipment.

Technical knowledge of pumping systems and/or “package-build” equipment using motors and diesel engines will also be a requirement.

Senior Design Engineer

The Job
Reporting to the Engineering Project Manager you will be responsible for detailed equipment design & specification.
You should have knowledge and experience of structural and capital equipment diesel driven and electric driven system design. Experience of quality systems & safe design practice is also required. You must be proficient in using Solid Edge or Solid Works 3D. Experience in the design of hazardous area equipment would be a distinct advantage.

Senior Design Engineer Requirements:

• a sound mechanical engineering background
• worked on the design of skid mounted equipment and enclosures for offshore use
• experience of diesel (and electric a bonus) driven rotating equipment
• experience of the offshore and international oil and gas industry
• experience of high (and ultra high) pressure water pumps, pumping and pipework (plunger type pumps)
• used to working with highly specified design projects
• proficient with 3D CAD (preferably Solidedge or Solidworks)
• Will be expected to reside within a reasonable commuting distance from Worcester office.
