Our Hazardous Area Expertise

Much of the success of our company has been due to our expertise in the design and manufacture of hazardous area pumps – both for onshore and offshore operation. We took the decision in the 1990s to invest time and effort to immerse ourselves in the standards of the offshore energy sector. In essence, we sought to understand and assimilate the regulations. Since then we have built our international reputation designing and manufacturing pump packages for various high-specification, high-compliance industries.

NORSOK

The standards of the Norwegian petroleum industry are, as far as possible, intended to replace oil company specifications. However, for many of our projects our equipment has to comply not only with NORSOK regulations, but also the very demanding requirements of customers operating in hostile and potentially dangerous environments.

This NORSOK pump and vacuum video details units we designed and manufactured. Both of these units are currently operating on North Sea platforms. Two NORSOK-compliant well service pump units are detailed in this news item.

ATEX

Our experience of supplying ATEX pump packages for both Zone 1 and Zone 2 is extensive. With our design and manufacturing facilities based in Worcester, UK, it is only natural that these European standards feature heavily in our supply history.

A search of our website for ‘ATEX’ reveals a wealth of information. For instance, search results include news items, case studies and product pages related to our supply of ATEX-compliant units. Whether onshore or offshore, we have the solution for your explosive atmosphere applications.

CSA

We have designed various pump units for operation in offshore Canadian waters. These units comply with the regulations of the CSA Group (formerly the Canadian Standards Association).

Our supply of CSA-compliant units includes; an ISO 10855-1 compliant vacuum unit, and HPHT and base oil washdown units.

GOST

Many of the pump packages we have designed and manufactured to comply with GOST regulations are currently operating in some of the most inhospitable and challenging conditions on earth. From waste injection pump packages to hot water washdown pump units to condensate transfer pumps, our experience of providing pumping solutions to GOST standards is significant.

IECEx

We have supplied pump, vacuum and compressor units to International Electrotechnical Commission System standards for operation around the globe. Many of our products are designed and manufactured for the Australasian market. Our supply history includes high pressure waterblast pumps, vacuum units, compressors and hot water jetting units.

Our Hazardous Area Depth of Knowledge

We have developed our product technologies over many years to comply with various explosive atmosphere standards along with customers’ own specifications. Our units do, therefore, generally comply with most standards. However, there are differences between regulatory authorities. One area of our expertise is the depth of our knowledge relating to the various explosive atmosphere standards and regulations. Specialising in high specification equipment has afforded us the ability to build up a vast wealth of knowledge and experience over more than two decades. In fact, we pride ourselves on being the go-to company for hazardous area flow solutions – pumps, vacuums, and compressors.
