A leading service provider to the energy and petrochemical sectors has ordered a lightweight pump unit for hazardous area operation. This ATEX Zone 2 unit will be used on an offshore platform.
The unit will be a two-piece, modular crash frame design. One module will house the pump and the other will house the engine. This two-piece construction will allow the unit to be positioned using cranes with reduced lifting capacity. Both crash frame modules will be DNV 2.7-3 certified and are easily connected on site ready for use.
The unit will feature a Hammelmann 140 series reciprocating plunger pump. It will be driven by a JCB 444 engine and will give a pump performance of 240 bar at 290 litres per minute. The pump is supplied complete with a Duplex stainless steel fluid head and stainless steel suction chamber suitable for pumping various fluids and chemicals at ambient temperatures up to 40°C.
These lightweight, small footprint pump units are based on our MultiJet range. MultiJet units have been providing reliable high pressure pumping in hazardous areas for over two decades. Our OffshoreLITE range has proved very popular since its launch in 2015 and we have supplied pump, compressor and vacuum units – all lightweight, small footprint and ATEX-certified.
