We are delighted to welcome our new Managing Director, Lee Watkins, to the team here at Calder.
There is no doubt that Lee is coming to Calder at a time when the world has been turned inside out by the Covid-19 pandemic. His first priority will be to continue the good work of his predecessor, Peter Elton, in keeping the company stable and moving in the right direction through these turbulent months. However, exciting times lie ahead for the company. Lee will lead the expansion of our industrial products into new markets and the diversification of our offshore product range to suit the changing requirements of the energy sector.
Lee stated “It is clear that the Calder team has an excellent foundation and their reputation for quality and customer focus is extremely impressive. I look forward to building and enhancing that further to enable Calder to expand their customer base and offer quality solutions to their existing and emerging industry sectors across the globe”.
Lee qualified as an accountant over 30 years ago and has progressed his career working within the food manufacturing and engineering/manufacturing industries which gave a good grounding for his later career. Lee has spent the last 13 years within an international project delivery specialist company with food and pharmaceutical clients and latterly, within a new sector for him being the rail industry, in a project/engineering company that modernises commuter trains. Lee’s knowledge and experience is ideally suited to his new role and will ensure Calder continues to be a success. Lee will be supported for a three-month transition period by the retiring Managing Director, Peter Elton, to ensure a smooth handover, and Peter will remain as a Director of the business and be available for ad-hoc advice thereafter.
