As with every exhibition since 2003, Calder were present at this year’s Offshore Europe. This is an invaluable opportunity to keep our customers abreast of our latest products and the latest in pumping technology.
Given the current unsettled state of the industry, it is not surprising that there appeared to be fewer visitors to the exhibition. However, Jim McNicol, our business development manager, reports that the exhibition was of particular value this year. The visitors we received on stand, although reduced in number from previous shows, came to discuss live projects with a real need for our specialised high pressure pumping solutions and proven technology. The mood of visitors was buoyant and gave every indication of an industry that is looking to the future.
We displayed two pump products on stand. Our working demonstration unit is a variable stroke, variable flow chemical injection package for use in Zone 1 hazardous areas. Of much interest was the Hammelmann high pressure pump with a cut-away section to reveal the inner workings of the unique valve design. We were supported by our colleagues at PG Flow Solutions and displayed a range of their innovative technology and solutions.
Further support came from Marco Linde of ANT AG. In collaboration with ANT, Calder supply abrasive waterjet cutting packages for decommissioning applications.
We were treated to an evening at the Malmaison, Aberdeen. The event, hosted Norvestor Equity AS (majority shareholders in PG Flow Solutions), was a great opportunity to meet with customers and colleagues from other Norvestor companies and discuss the diverse range of offshore technologies available within the group.
Two of the main products we focussed on during the exhibition were:
Chemical Injection – high pressure metering and injection packages.
Offshore Decommissioning – featuring a combination of Calder high pressure pump packages and abrasive cutting technology.
