Petronas Carigali present Inversys Corporation Sdn. Bhd. with the Outstanding Vendor Award for their supply of nine chemical injection packages for the Diyarbekir oil field, located in the Caspian Sea. In collaboration with Inversys, Calder designed and manufactured all nine pump packages covering a range of chemical injection applications.
Inversys’ managing director, Dato’ Zaini Zainal said, “This award is a credit to both the Calder and Inversys teams who worked together to deliver the high pressure pump packages on time and within budget, meeting Petronas’ rigorous quality and compliance requirements.”
In late 2011, Inversys approached Calder to design and manufacture pump units for the metering and injection of MEG, wax inhibitor, foam inhibitor, corrosion inhibitor, and pour point depressant. Following order placement, this multi-million pound project was completed – design, manufacture, and in-house test – within 10 months.
The MEG Injection packages utilise the Hammelmann process pump, a vertical, positive displacement, reciprocating plunger pump, and each is driven by an ABB motor. The inhibitor injection units are also electric motor driven and use pumps from the Prominent Orlita range.
All the units are skid mounted, have integral storage tanks and operate in a Zone 2 hazardous area with an ambient temperature range of -25°C to +40°C.
