Another Contract to Support the Energy Transition

We are delighted to receive another significant contract to supply a pump skid to support the energy transition. In this instance, it is to inject methanol as the fuel to power ship propulsion. For this project we have selected a pump model from our HAMPRO® pump range which has excellent reliability, long service intervals, and features zero leakage-to-atmosphere technology. We will design, build and test this pump skid package at our factory in Worcester, UK. After which, the unit will be subject to further third party testing and then integrated into the marine vessel’s engine room.

Dual Fuel Marine Vessels

In the drive towards net zero, dual fuel vessels powered using methanol have been around for a number of years. Indeed, in 2015, four HAMPRO® 72 methanol injection pump units were installed on a European passenger and car ferry. Each of these pumps has an operating pressure of 600 bar and a flow rate of 50 litres per minute.

Traditional Markets and the Energy Transition

Our supply history for the energy transition is growing and enquiries are increasing exponentially. Whilst our traditional markets are still hugely important to us, we are thoroughly enjoying being so actively involved in the energy transition. Our four decades of experience with high pressure and hazardous area pumping has transferred so well into the geothermal, hydrogen, CO2 injection and other P2X industries.
