Ready for despatch – TEG pump skid for FPSO

9th Oct 2024

Ready for despatch.

This modular pump skid will be installed on an FPSO and will operate in an ATEX Zone 2 hazardous area. This pump package will inject TEG (triethylene glycol) using a reciprocating plunger pump fitted with elastomers and sealing material suitable for the process temperature. Due to the process criticality, this design is a twin pump system for duty standby.

Pump skid – modular by design

Given the typically limited space on board FPSO (floating production storage and offloading) vessels, the modular design will allow the pump skid to be manoeuvred into position in sections. The sections will then be re-assembled in situ. As more offshore platforms and vessels are updated, electrified, or re-purposed, access and platform space are frequently an issue. Designing pump skids for these situations is something we relish. We have seen a significant rise in demand over the last decade for our compact and modular pump skid packages.

The Hampro Pump

The pump selected for this process application is from the Hampro range. Through the pump’s vertical design, oscillating forces are fed vertically into the substructure. Lateral oscillations – as seen often on horizontal machines – are, therefore, not generated. This increases the service life of the pistons and sealing elements. There is a choice of pump seals and valves to suit the application and these critical components have been field-proven over many years and across numerous applications. To achieve emission-free design, the intermediate pump chamber can be sealed off completely from the atmosphere with a gas-tight cover and charged with nitrogen. This option prevents the unintentional release of liquids, vapours or gases, even in the event of a failure on a plunger seal.

This pump package was designed, built and tested at our factory in Worcester, UK.
